This site is intended as a method for friends to casually share and comment on the current music they like and are listening to. The term världsmusik means "world music" in Swedish. The term 'world music' was chosen to encourage any and all types of music to be shared. Swedish was chosen because this was the only translation of 'world music' available as a domain name. And it's classy.

"You Got to Go" - Above and Beyond featuring Zoë Johnston

Keep hearing this track on the sound system where I workout. Usually they only play top 40 stuff there, but I haven't heard it anywhere else, so I'm not sure what that's about.

There are a few remixes of it that you could check out too. I've never heard of Above and Beyond or Zoë Johnston, but this track is wicked catchy.

Enjoy.

Cheers,
Greg

  1. Yeah great track. I love this group, they come up all the time on my Trance Pandora station. Surprised I hadn't heard this one yet.

I didn't know this until I looked them up on wikipedia, but they also released an album under the side project name of "OceanLab", which you've probably heard of if you listen to a lot of Trance. The album was "Sirens of the Sea". You've probably heard the track Lonely Girl, I think that was one of the more popular tracks of that album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c4xmZLv_wI8

Here's what wikipedia had to say about them:
"Above & Beyond are a British trance music group formed in 2000 and consists of the members Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Finnish Paavo Siljamäki. They have their own record label Anjunabeats, which releases trance and progressive music, and they also host their own weekly radio show Trance Around the World. The group's tracks are regularly played by DJs around the world, including Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Ferry Corsten, ATB, and Kyau & Albert. On 20 October 2011 DJ Magazine announced the results of their annual Top 100 DJ Poll, with Above & Beyond placed at #5 in the world"
